Local collaboration

Studio Plastplan

Plastplan develops long-term collaborative design projects with local businesses, transforming local plastic waste into products and circular material systems. Each collaboration begins with research into existing material flows, production practices and organisational needs, forming the basis for products that respond directly to each partner's operations. Plastic is collected from the partner, recycled locally, and returned as functional products - whether tools for daily use, furnishings, promotional objects, event giveaways or products for customers - keeping materials in continuous circulation within the same organisation.

Combining design, recycling, manufacturing and communication under one roof, Plastplan guides each collaboration from discarded material to finished product. Equipped with an in-house recycling and production facility, alongside custom-built machinery the studio transforms local plastic waste into products tailored to each partner's needs while demonstrating practical models for local circular production.

Alongside product development, Plastplan documents every collaboration through photography, film and storytelling, enabling partners to communicate their environmental ambitions while showcasing the possibilities of circular production. By making both the process and the outcomes visible, the studio contributes to a broader understanding of plastic as a valuable material resource rather than waste, promoting responsible resource use within the circular economy.
