Björn Steinar is a product designer, currently based in Reykjavík.

His multi-layered conceptual projects unfold slowly and take on meaning - the closer the viewer comes.
Throughout the years Björn has been shifting his focus towards anti-capitalistic design; research-driven projects that often end up dealing with some of the countless social and environmental problems, resulting in expressive simple solutions.

Recent works include collaborative projects; Cargo - explanation of the world condition from the standpoint of two hyper-local materials, Willow Project - catalog of material transformation of an unwanted material source and his latest work Catch of the Day, fighting food waste by handcrafting vodka from dumpster dived fruits - followed by open source distilling machines.
